(CNN) – The alcalde of a Mexican town was arrested for the crime just a week after accepting the cargo, the latest in a series of violent attacks against the country's politics.

The Asesinato of Alejandro Arcos Catalán, who accepted the cargo from Alcalde de Chilpancingo on October 1, was not produced until the next day, according to the city's government secretary, Francisco Tapia, which led to an untimely death and a renewal of concerns about him in a country that recently celebrated its largest and most violent elections in history.

This month, Claudia Sheinbaum, the senior president of Mexico, told the Arcos homicide department “desperate” and said that her security officer explained to her “with more details” about those responsible who will be asked to solve the security problems país.

“Vamos a desplegar la estrategia general. “Trabajaremos at all stages with more presence, intelligence and investigations, as well as cooperation with the governors,” Sheinbaum said during his press conference.

Chilpancingo is the capital of Guerrero, a city with a reputation for violent crime and is also the tourist attraction of Acapulco.

The state's governor, Evelyn Salgado, condemns the murder squad and asks those responsible to investigate. “The entire wartime society mourns his defeat and we are outraged,” Salgado wrote in X.

But the violence facing Mexican politicians has expanded even further after Guerrero, as the historic June 2 election was demonstrated by Sheinbaum's departure.

With 20,000 electors in play, the rise of the Sangre cut sets less than ten precedents for those who intended not to influence the vote.

During the campaign, fewer than 34 political candidates were investigated by criminal organizations. And the violence did not come in vain. After the election of Sheinbaum, the Alcaldesa of Cotija and Michoacán, it took a few more hours for the children to die.
