Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson entered Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys leading the NFL with 6.5 sacks, but his season was in jeopardy.

In the third quarter, Hutchinson extended its lead with its seventh sack of the season. However, as he lay on the ground after tackling Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Hutchinson appeared to strike another player with his leg.

He's one of the reasons the Lions' defense has seen an upswing since the 2022 season. Detroit selected him with the No. 2 overall pick that year, and he immediately performed strongly. With 9.5 sacks and three interceptions, he finished second in the 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year category.

Last season, he had 11.5 sacks and one interception en route to the first Pro Bowl selection of his career.
