Agatha All Along Episode 8 and 9 explained

Agatha is facing death

Agatha All Along's In the seventh episode, it was revealed that Aubrey Plaza's “Rio Vidal” is actually Marvel's “Lady Death.” This continues in Episode 8, where there is a confrontation between Agatha and Death, and Death explains that she sees Billy as an abomination in order to gain a second life, upsetting the sacred balance. However, Death cannot violently take Billy's life because he simply reincarnates again and she loses sight of him. Therefore, Agatha agrees to force Billy to surrender, and in return Death will leave her alone forever.

Later, after Agatha helps Billy escape the streets, Death gets into an argument with Agatha for breaking her deal. Billy returns in his full Wiccan costume to help Agatha fight, and Death gives them an ultimatum: one of them lives and one of them dies, but they get to choose who. Agatha initially leaves Billy to die, but then he changes her mind by reminding her of her son Nicholas. Agatha then gives herself a literal kiss of death and dies.

What was at the end of the witch's path?

Agatha all the time is framed by a journey along the Witch's Road, with each episode featuring a new trial. In Episode 8, Billy, Agatha and Jen find themselves back where they started at the beginning of their journey, which leads to a lot of confusion. After being transported to a morgue, each of the witches finds a way to get what they desire. Jen performs an escape spell to free her from Agatha, Billy manages to find his brother's soul and place it in a new body, and Agatha completes her trial.

Was the path of the witches real?

As it turned out, none of the witches had to go down the path to do this, as the witch path itself was nothing but a lie. In a flashback in Episode 9, it is revealed that The Ballad of The Witches' Road is a song that Agatha and her son made up while living on the road. Eventually the text caught on and the witches set off in search of the street. Agatha, who killed witches for their power, decided to take advantage of this lie and used it over the years to trick covens into finding her so she could pretend to set them on the path of the witches lead, but she turned and stole her power. So if the path of the witches wasn't real, then what happened to the coven? Agatha all the time?

It turns out that Billy Maximoff is very similar to his mother and has managed to use his magic to invent a completely false reality of Witch Street. This meant that Billy was responsible for the deaths of Lilia, Sharon and Alice, but as Agatha reminded him, she would kill them all anyway, and his spell resulted in Jen surviving.

What happened to Nicholas Scratch?

The fate of Agatha's son Nicholas Scratch is finally revealed Agatha All Along's last episode. When Nicholas was born in 1750, death came to take his life. However, Agatha begs her to let him live, to which she agrees but warns that she will come for him one day. After years of traveling together, Nicholas finally falls ill and in the night Death comes to take him away, which breaks Agatha. This event is the reason why Agatha hated Death throughout the show, but as Death explained, her job is to maintain the natural order of things, and this required taking Nicholas with her.

Did Agatha die?

Agatha actually surrenders to death in Episode 8, which ends her time in the human kingdom. However, she isn't gone for long and returns as a ghost in episode 9 to haunt Billy. Billy returns to Westview to try to banish Agatha with her locket, but Agatha comes to terms with Billy and reveals that she cannot leave because she is not yet ready to face Nicholas on the other side. Billy asks Agatha to be his guide and together they set out to find his brother Tommy.

Where is Tommy Maximoff?

After the revelation that Billy Maximoff was reincarnated in a different human body following the events of WandaVision, the question on every fan's lips was whether his brother Tommy did the same. Agatha all the time reveals that Tommy's soul did not automatically find another host like Billy's, but rather Billy was able to use his magic to find Tommy's spirit and guide him into the body of a drowning boy. Billy doesn't know exactly where this boy is, but he can sense that he is lonely and has no one to love him. This could be related to Tommy Shepherd's origins in the comics, where he is portrayed as a child of divorcee who ends up in juvenile hall after having difficulty controlling his powers. It may be that when Billy finds his brother, he isn't at his best yet.

He'll drown… It's a bad place. The people, the family, there is no one who loves him. He has no one.

Agatha all the time leaves things open-ended as Agatha and Billy are on the move again (albeit not). The Street) when they went looking for Tommy Maximoff. While Agatha could definitely appear in the MCU again in her new ghost form, it feels like this Disney+ series is the conclusion to her solo story. It seems more likely that Billy's story will continue in a Wiccan-focused series, or perhaps he'll even appear again in Vision WandaVision sequel series, Vision Quest.

Agatha all the time is now streaming on Disney+.
