According to the court, X paid his Brazil fines to the wrong bank

The saga of X and Brazil continues. On Friday, Brazil's Supreme Court said that X had paid his fines to the wrong bank, Reuters reported. This will delay the return of the social media platform to Brazil.

However, this battle did not last long, as X capitulated to Brazil in September when Musk quietly agreed to the country's demands: shut down accounts that spread misinformation, appoint a local representative and pay fines.

On the latter point, Musk and X took blow after blow. In late September, Brazil's Supreme Court said that if X wanted to be reinstated, it would have to pay an additional $5 million in fines after already paying $3.3 million. This Friday, X submitted a new request to Brazil to lift the suspension, claiming that the country had paid all fines. According to Reuters, Brazil's Supreme Court judge Alexandre de Moraes responded that X needed to pay his fines to the right bank. The judge also said that Brazil's attorney general would consider the company's application once that happens.
