Aaron Rodgers had a blunt quote about the Jets' brutal loss to lowly Patriots

Remarkably, the New York Jets suffered their worst loss to date in a season full of such games on Sunday, falling to the New England Patriots 25-22.

Widely considered one of the worst teams in the league, the Pats lost their best offensive player, rookie quarterback Drake Maye, to a head injury in the first half. Losing to this squad is bad enough for New York, and even worse when you consider how badly Gang Green needed this win.

Instead, the Jets fall to 2-6 and their season prospects look pretty bleak. Aaron Rodgers, who threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns that day, cited the loss very clearly when speaking to reporters after the game.

It's hard to win, and even harder when the team gets in its own way.

“The NFL is tough,” Rodgers told the media after admitting he was frustrated by the loss. “Hard to win. More difficult when you make it difficult for yourself.”

The Jets didn't turn the ball over, but they did commit eight penalties for 55 yards and allowed a huge punt return to give the Patriots their third and final touchdown of the day. In other words, there weren't many self-inflicted wounds, but just enough to seal her fate.

The loss will make this a long week for the Jets, who now sit tied for last place in the AFC East with New England.
