Patrick Kane returns to Chicago, Donato leads

The Chicago Blackhawks will welcome a familiar face home on Wednesday night. Patrick Kane will play again at the United Center.

While nothing will beat the excitement and energy that Kane's homecoming sparked last February, tomorrow night's game will definitely be one to mark on the calendar – get your antennae ready.

If you had told me after a month of hockey that Ryan Donato would lead the Blackhawks in scoring, I would have thought you were crazy. And yet here we are. Donato leads the field with seven goals (three more than the next best Hawk). Later today we'll take a closer look at what sets Donato apart.

Blackhawks stories you may have missed:

  • The Chicago Blackhawks are 5-7-1 after winning their last two games. The Hawks are in the thick of things early this year, trying to prove that last year's problems can be a thing of the past. With the start of the new season, the team's fans vented their frustration.
  • The Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings meet on Wednesday evening. The game will mark the second time that former Blackhawks star forward Patrick Kane will be at the United Center as part of the away team. Last year's game went down in the history books and could have been avoided.
  • Relive Kane's return to the United Center last year with this video. Maybe Connor Bedard and Co. can get revenge after Kane's OT win last year.
