Trump wears vest and vows again to protect women 'whether they like it or not'

Okay, I'm convinced. There is absolutely nothing more to say about this election. Stop trying Tiger Beat on the Potomac. For the love of Godstop trying so hard!!!!

On Wednesday, the former president* dressed up like a traffic cone, his orange vest contrasting grotesquely with the orange of his face. He then nearly killed himself while trying to open the door of a fake garbage truck he had rented for a stunt. He showed up to a rally still wearing the orange doublet, then gave a speech to an audience made up of people who had apparently spent too much time at the free all-you-can-eat Haldol buffet. During the speech he said the following:

“I said, 'Well, I'm going to do it whether the women like it or not.' I will protect her.' ”

To me, that's a pretty terrible three or four hours for a presidential campaign. However, I am not part of the Juice Box Escadrille TBOTP. Here's his take on the same three or four hours.

Who won the day? Trump – Trump won because he forced Harris to clean up – and then changed the subject.

Please carry on.

For Harris, that meant Wednesday Dealing with Joe Biden's controversial statements that “the only trash I see floating out there is that of his supporters – his – his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and un-American,” said a White House transcript that included an apostrophe in “supporters” – while the Republicans accused Biden of saying “supporters.”

This was, of course, complete nonsense, if not blatant hypocrisy. But keep going – I’m excited for more.

Harris spent much of the day cleaning up and said she disagreed with “any criticism of people based on who they vote for.” It was consistent with her final message, which she gave to 75,000 fans at the Ellipse the night before. “You heard my speech last night and constantly throughout my career,” she said. “I believe that my work is about representing all people, whether they support me or not. And as president of the United States, I will be a president for all Americans, whether you vote for me or not.”

Did your “final message” seem “trampled” to you? Did it seem that way to anyone outside of the Chuck E. Cheese ball pit? TBOTP Newsroom?

Trump's campaign team spent much of the day igniting outrage, even going so far as to take questions from reporters in a garbage truck – again underscoring Hinchcliffe's racist joke. “How do you like my garbage truck?” he said. “This truck is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden.” Of course, Biden is not running for president. And the outrage represents a tension, both from Trump's comments that the nation was suffering from “enemies within” and from his vice president, JD Vance, who defended Trump's rally just days earlier by saying, “We have to stop ourselves.” to offend like that.”

My goodness, that sounds really bad. Given all the horrific images and creepy stalker rhetoric, the former president* must have really gotten his act together in the late innings in the same way the Dodgers did on Wednesday night to…”win the day(!)””

But for Trump, the controversy presented an opportunity to change the theme of his rally. He won the day.

I am in awe.
