Results in Pennsylvania probably won't be known on election night. Pennsylvania law does not allow early processing of mail-in ballots pulled out the state's 2020 vote counting process. Pennsylvania election officials are tension himself because of conspiracy theories and protests.

“Elections in Pennsylvania have never been more safe and secure, with voter verification of every vote cast on paper ballots, whether you vote in person on Election Day or by absentee ballot,” said Al Schmidt, a Republican and state resident Top election officialhe told “60 Minutes” in October.

Trump won Pennsylvania in 2016, and President Biden, who was born in Pennsylvania, won it in 2020. The state, which is technically a commonwealth, has a strong white and blue-collar cohort, as well as a diverse population in Philadelphia. Labor unions still have a strong presence in Pennsylvania, particularly in the western part of the state.

At the end of October, polls showed Harris and Trump almost tied in the state. One September CBS News/YouGov poll showed Harris with 50% of the vote in Pennsylvania and Trump with 50%.
