The NFL trade deadline is approaching and teams have one last chance to significantly reshape their rosters before moving on to the second half of the regular season.

Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET marks the official deadline for all 32 teams, although many have already taken action and nine deals have been finalized since the start of the season. But could there be more notable moves the next day?

USA TODAY Sports will bring you the latest news and trade deadline updates from across the league. So check back regularly for the latest information:

Among potential sellers, the Cleveland Browns could be the team to watch at the NFL trade deadline.

Having already traded wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland still has several other prospects that must be off the roster by Tuesday, including defensive end Za'Darius Smith, defensive tackles Dalvin Tomlinson and wide receiver Elijah Harris Moore and cornerback Greg Newsome II.

“Frankly, we're just focused on who's really here, who's present, even though we know we have no control over any of those things,” security officer Rodney McLeod said Monday. “So what we're focusing on as players is, again, how can we do a better job to win on Sunday? And that's why we're here. We're here to win games and we're leaving that. To be completely honest, we're relying on his role.

Smith has been closely linked to the Detroit Lions, who are looking for a defensive end after Aidan Hutchinson suffered a broken tibia and fibula. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported that the compensator could be a fourth-round pick.

The Arizona Cardinals are preparing for a possible playoff push in the NFC West.

The Cardinals agreed to acquire outside linebacker Baron Browning from the Denver Broncos on Monday in exchange for a sixth-round pick.

Browning, 25, is a former third-round pick from Ohio State with 9 1/2 sacks in his career. He began the season as a starter and played the first two games before moving to the reserve team with a foot injury. But with Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper combining for 11 1/2 sacks so far this season, Browning has been surplus to requirements as he enters the final year of his rookie contract. Cooper, meanwhile, signed a four-year, $60 million contract extension with the Broncos over the weekend, a person with knowledge of the move confirmed to Tyler Dragon of USA TODAY Sports. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team had not disclosed the financial terms of the agreement.

The Cardinals, who lead the division at 5-4, now have an additional piece to boost the pass rush, which has been a constant throughout the season until Sunday's win over the Chicago Bears, in which the defense recorded six sacks from Caleb Williams. had problems.

But who won the deal? Check out our trade classes for the Cardinals and Broncos.

Jerry Jones doesn't let go of hope that the Cowboys' season can be saved. Even though his team was 3-5, Jones suggested his team might consider making a purchase at the NFL trade deadline.

“We have to do a few things this week,” Jones said after Sunday’s 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

But Jarrett Bell of USA TODAY Sports is among the skeptics who expect Jones to break out of his personnel mold and make a significant move. According to reports from ESPN and NFL Network, things could change even more now that quarterback Dak Prescott is expected to miss several weeks.

Bell takes a closer look at Dallas' prospects in his column on Sunday.

By firing Dennis Allen on Monday, the New Orleans Saints took a drastic step to signal that they will not stick with the status quo. Could there be more to come before trading closes on Tuesday?

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero said the team is unlikely to conduct a fire sale. And given the rapid restructuring the team has undertaken in recent years, there are few ways the team can improve its cap prospects (New Orleans is projected to have $61.5 million in 2025, according to OverTheCap.com). are above the upper limit). .

Defensive lineman Chase Young is one of the few mobile players as he is on a one-year contract. Four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore may be one of the team's most intriguing players, but it's unclear whether he would require treatment as he battles a hamstring injury that forced him to miss Sunday's loss to Carolina Panthers to miss.

While many big names have already been postponed, there are still some notable figures who could be available, including:

  • 1. Azeez Ojulari, OLB, New York Giants
  • 2. Za'Darius Smith, DE, Cleveland Browns
  • 3. Jonathan Jones, CB, New England Patriots
  • 4. Arden Key, OLB, Tennessee Titans
  • 5. Chase Young, DE, New Orleans Saints

The 2024 NFL trade deadline is set for Tuesday, November 5th at 4:00 p.m. ET.

The deadline comes midseason because NFL owners voted in March to push the season back a week from its traditional spot on the league calendar. After Tuesday, teams will no longer be able to make official trades until the start of the new league year in March.
