Spurs striker Jeremy Sochan is out of the game against the LA Clippers due to a thumb injury

As the San Antonio Spurs look for their third straight win, this time on the road against James Harden and the LA Clippers, they will be without Jeremy Sochan in the second half.

After going to the locker room before half-time, the team announced that Sochan had suffered a left thumb injury that would keep him out for the rest of the competition. On Monday night, he had four points, three rebounds and a steal and an assist in just 12 minutes.

This season, Sochan has been a huge catalyst for San Antonio since returning to his role as a power forward. He struggled as a point guard last season, but was successful at the start of the year, averaging 17.3 points and 8.5 rebounds while shooting over 50 percent from the field.

“He's just a guy whose energy is always going in the right direction,” Spurs star Victor Wembanyama said of his teammate. “His willingness to sacrifice for the team… It's a pleasure to share the pitch with him.”

Sochan's status beyond Monday's competition is unknown, but the hope for the Silver and Black division is that he won't be gone for long.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
