LIVE Discussion: Memphis Grizzlies at Brooklyn Nets, 8:00 p.m. ET

The Nets are the high flyers at the start of the season and it was a breath of fresh air despite the dampened expectations. Of course, that depends on what you're aiming for this season – hitting rock bottom with a 14 percent chance of getting a top pick… or fighting for a playoff spot. Or somewhere in between.

With three wins under their belt, Brooklyn managed to quickly beat the weakening Detroit Pistons. This just goes to show that it really doesn't matter who or what you're competing against. As long as there are five NBA players on the court, anything can happen. But Detroit was aggressive with Brooklyn, especially Cam Thomas, and that messed up the whole game.

Let's see if Memphis takes a similar approach to slowing them down.

Game preview | Jordan Greene

Injuries: Bojan Bogdanovic (foot), Day'Ron Sharpe (thigh) and Trendon Watford (thigh) are out. Ben Simmons is out (sequentially). The question is whether Nic Claxton will play for the first time in a row. Jordi Fernandez left the possibility open.

On the Memphis side, Luke Kennard as well as Vince Williams (lower leg), Cam Spencer (ankle), Marcus Smart (ankle), Desmond Bane (oblique) and GG Jackson (foot) are out with a left foot injury. Another year full of injury worries for the Grizz.

The game: Brooklyn will face a Grizzlies team that has come out of hibernation (see what I did there). Memphis has won its last two games and has not only been successful lately, but has also dominated the East Coast on its journey so far. Against the Bucks, Morant completely took over the game and used his vision to make incredible passes to his teammates. Against them 76sThe hero was the great Jay Huff, who scored 20 points in 14 minutes without coming off the bench.
