Buccaneers vs. Chiefs result, live updates: Kansas City appears to remain undefeated on Monday Night Football against Tampa Bay

The Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated and have found different ways to win, but they haven't looked like a dominant team yet. Five of their seven wins have come by margin, and they haven't had as strong a run as the Lions or Ravens, but thanks to solid defensive play and strong offensive moments, Kansas City sits atop the AFC once again as the season reaches its halfway point. The first-half success comes alongside Patrick Mahomes' worst statistical season. Entering Week 9, he is middle of the pack in passing yards (1,651) and touchdown passes (8) and is tied for the lead in interceptions this season (9).

Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield also enters Week 9 tied for the league lead, but also leads the NFL in touchdown passes with 21 for an explosive Bucs passing game. The problem for Tampa Bay is that it will be without its two best receivers – Chris Godwin is out at least until the start of the playoffs with an ankle injury, and Mike Evans is expected to be out until Week 12 with a hamstring injury.
