When will the platform stop collecting data?

It's not too late to do some last-minute damage control on your music habits.

Spotify is denying rumors that it will stop collecting user data for its annual Spotify Wrapped on October 31st.

The popular campaign allows users to see and share their top songs, artists and podcasts of the year on social media. The streaming platform also creates a playlist of a user's 100 most streamed songs and shares interesting facts such as: B. whether he is in the top 1% of Taylor Swift listeners or what his music aura looks like.

While Wrapped typically releases in late November to early December, many make the unfounded assumption that the app only tracks listening habits between January 1st and October 31st. On Wednesday, some users joked online that they only had 24 hours to save their results.

Spotify has assured users that the rumor is false. The audio streamer shared on Thursday

Here's what you should know about Spotify Wrapped this year.

When will Spotify Wrapped 2024 be released?

Spotify has not yet announced when Wrapped will be released in 2024, but based on previous years it will be released in late November or early December. In recent years, Spotify has pushed up the release date of “Wrapped.”

Last year Wrapped was released on November 29th. In 2022, Spotify Wrapped was released on November 30th. In 2021 and 2020 it was released on December 1st. In 2019 it was released on December 5th and in 2018 on December 6th.

What is Spotify Wrapped?

Founded in 2016, Spotify launched an annual campaign that combines Spotify user listening data into an interactive display of the music the user listened to most.

Typically, Spotify Wrapped displays a user's most popular songs, artists, and genres. Users are encouraged to share their Spotify Wrapped on social media.

User data is collected from January 1st to the fall of the same year to create a user's Spotify Wrapped.

When does Spotify Wrapped stop tracking?

With Spotify Wrapped releasing before December 31st, users may be wondering when tracking of their listening habits will end.

Although Spotify has not yet announced when it will stop collecting listener data for Wrapped this year, the streaming service announced last year on X, formerly Twitter, that it would continue collecting until October 31st.

How do I check my Spotify Wrapped?

When Spotify Wrapped is released in 2024, users will be able to see their results in the app as long as there are no pending updates.

What about Apple Music Replay?

In 2019, Apple jumped on the Wrapped bandwagon and released its own feature called Apple Music Replay. Apple Music Replay works similarly to Spotify Wrapped, starting this year to release monthly Replay experiences that highlight a user's listening habits at the end of each month.

A release date for 2024 Apple Music Replay has not been announced.
