Vikings Nopedy Nopes: The Jordan Addison Trade, Joe Flacco on Sunday, Myles Gaskin

The No no are weekly Minnesota Vikings-themed articles that we don't buy. It's a spin-off from our rumor mill and we hope you like it. Here is the 33rd batch of Vikings Nopedy Nopes in the series' history.

The Nopedy No: Jordan Addison posted an angry caption to a photo on Instagram demanding action.

Addison posted a photo of himself on Instagram last weekend with the caption “FREE 3,” his personal Matnra since his college days at the University of Pittsburgh.

The problem? People thought “FREE 3” meant he wanted to free himself from the Vikings organization through trade. But that was wrong.

“People just try to make something out of everything. It’s nothing,” Addison said this week on ESPN.

Since Vikings fans are familiar with cryptic wide receiver slogans from the Stefon Diggs era, many jumped on the innocent Instagram post to express Addison's irritation.

Addison added: “I think I came up with that in the 2020 fall camp in Pittsburgh. So that's how it started. People need to do their homework before they start saying anything.”

Addison isn't being traded, and the headline “FREE 3” wasn't a sign of dissatisfaction either. It is his personal motto.

Verdict: No no.

The Nopedy No: The Vikings are done because Joe Flacco, not Anthony Richardson, will start for the Colts Football on Sunday evenings.

When Joe Flacco received the QB1 nomination this week, some fans rolled their eyes and feared he could terrorize the Vikings' struggling defense. But there's a reason not to fear Flacco from benched quarterback Anthony Richardson: If Vikings fans are at a point in the 2024 regular season where they fear the 39-year-old Flacco, that's the season toast anyway.

A trash crew would be shaking in their boots in front of an immobile, nearly 40-year-old Flacco. Vice versa, folks should worried that Richardson would “figure it out” in real time against Minnesota. He won't get that chance as Flacco took over the QB1 baton from Colts head coach Shane Steichen this week.

In fact, Flacco can sling the ball and could even do well in Minnesota. However, if people are afraid of Flacco coming to the Twin Cities, the 2024 season is already ruined. Stick a fork in it. Flacco might be the worst – definitely the oldest – quarterback left on the Vikings' roster.

Don't be afraid about Joe Flacco. Like, really?

Verdict: No no.

The Nopedy No: Myles Gaskin was dropped by the Vikings.

When you see a notification about the Vikings releasing Myles Gaskin, don't believe it.

The Vikings can't move on from him.

Verdict: No no.
