Gwyneth Paltrow is having a good time working with Timothée Chalamet

Gwyneth Paltrow enjoys working with Timothée Chalamet.

During Paltrow's appearance on the episode of The Drew Barrymore ShowPaltrow, 52, called Chalamet, 28, “such a wonderful young man” as she discussed returning to theaters to star in the film Marty Supreme.

“Really, he's very polite, very talented, he's just so nice to be around,” Paltrow said. She and Chalamet were spotted filming scenes together in New York City's Central Park on October 16 – including a shot of them kissing. “I really have a good time with him.”

Marty Supreme will be Paltrow's first major screen role since her appearance in 2019 Avengers: Endgame. Back in 2017, the Oscar winner said she would be retiring from acting to focus on her lifestyle and wellness brand Goop, which she founded in 2008. She hasn't moved away from Hollywood entirely, however: Paltrow lent her voice in cameo appearances in 2017 and 2023 American horror stories Episode and the film 2022 she saidin which she expressed herself; She also starred in the Netflix series The politician from 2019 to 2020.

Back in August, it was announced that Paltrow had been cast alongside Chalamet in the upcoming film. When host Drew Barrymore asked Paltrow on Nov. 1 why she decided to take on a new film role, she described life as an “empty-nester” after her and husband Brad Falchuk's children all went to college.

“Honestly I think it’s a few things; “My son and my stepson both went to college for the first time, they're both freshmen, and my daughter and my stepdaughter went there a few years ago,” Paltrow said. She and her ex-husband Chris Martin have daughters Apple (20) and Moses (18). Falchuk shares children Isabella and Brody with his first wife Suzanne Bukinik, whom he divorced in 2013.

“So the nest is empty and I feel like there's a really sad part of it, and then there's this part of it where I can maybe, I don't know, explore my own creativity again, or something like that the kind.” Paltrow said of returning to acting. “To be honest, I was a little nervous,” she added after she and Barrymore's co-host Ross Mathews joked that she had asked her Oscar statuette for advice.

Paltrow and Chalamet's film is a fictional story partially inspired by professional table tennis player Marty Reisman diversity reported in July. The real Reisman died in 2012 at the age of 82 The New York Times.

Marty Supreme Josh Safdie is directing from a screenplay by Safdie, 40, co-written with Ronald Bronstein. The film does not have a release date yet.
