Williams County election officials are preparing for a busy Election Day

WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) – Williams County election officials said they are ready for what is expected to be a very busy election.

County communications coordinator Lindsey Harriman said they are fully staffed and training is underway for next week. She said the ballot contains many issues and races that will increase voter turnout.

“We have already returned more than 3,400 mail-in ballots, so we are looking forward to a pretty good turnout on Election Day as well,” Harriman said.

Only 3,975 votes were cast in Williams County for this June's primary election. There were only 7,492 votes in the 2022 parliamentary election. There were 14,419 votes in the last presidential election.

Williams County voters can vote in person by absentee ballot on Thursday, Friday and Monday at the County Administration Building at 206 East Broadway in Williston.

On Election Day, any Williams County voter may cast their vote at either the Williston ARC or the Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central. Local polling locations are located at Grenora City Hall, Ray City Hall, Tioga Community Center and Wildrose City/Fire Hall.

“With six different polling locations and the ability to vote by mail, we hope to do things efficiently and quickly,” Harriman said.
