As Fortnite's latest Marvel-only season comes to a close, it's time to take a look at what's next, and for long-time fans, it should be another nostalgic trip down memory lane. Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 is imminent. Like Fortnite OG last November, this is a return (and of course a remix) of the original island from Chapter 2, complete with skins, weapons, loot and more, all befitting this era of Epic's massive game.

Fortnite server down – When does Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 start?

When Fortnite's servers come back up, it will kick off this year's huge remix season, although Epic has already revealed it will only last a month before another Chapter Finals event in December ushers in another new island.

The return of the Chapter 2 map will be a bigger deal for some players than last year's OG map, but for now all we can do is wait for Epic to bring Fortnite back online. But when will that be? Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to this question as there is no scheduled end date for this maintenance window. Typically, you can expect a new Fortnite season to begin between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. ET on launch day – in this case November 2nd – although there have been major exceptions.

For example, earlier this year there was a technical issue that caused the game to remain offline until late in the evening and Fortnite to remain offline for almost a day. But this was a very unusual situation and should not be repeated often.

Once the game returns, Remix Chapter 2 will introduce a whole host of changes, such as a new (well, return) map inspired by Chapter 2, vehicles that fit the era – or perhaps no vehicles at all to begin with, as cars weren't added until Chapter 2, Season 3 – as well as a new Remix Chapter 2 Pass, the will likely celebrate some of the most popular characters of this era with mashups, such as Meowscles and Midas, have been combined into one character.
