INDIANAPOLIS – When Taylor Swift took charge at the stadium where the Indianapolis Colts play on Friday night, she sang songs to a sold-out, packed house full of fans who had traveled from all over the country to see music icon Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was among the frenzied crowd.

When IndyStar learned earlier this week that Clark would be on the first night of Swift's Eras Tour, she told us through Fever spokesman Ryan Stevens that her favorite Swift song is “Enchanted.”

The power ballad, which mixes pop, rock and country, was released in 2010 when Clark was still in elementary school. The lyrics are based on a woman who falls in love with someone after meeting him for the first time and worries whether her feelings will be reciprocated.

The song is on Swift's third studio album, Speak Now. In October, a post on X showed Clark singing the song. She said she listened to it over and over again in college when she was breaking records at Iowa.

Pacemaker? Colts? Eleven?

What other professional athletes in Indy will be at the Swift concert this weekend? Turns out Clark might be the biggest Swiftie on the city's roster. According to Stevens, she was the only Fever player in attendance.

A handful of Colts players said they would go to the concert before they play the Vikings in Minnesota on Sunday night (away game because, you know, Swift). But none of these players are big Swift fans.

Instead, they go with their families and their wives, not because they are so-called Swifties, said Colts spokesman Matt Conti.

As for the Pacers, they were unable to see Swift in Indy due to their schedule. The team left for a road trip on Thursday and won't be back until Tuesday.

Taylor Swift fever will take over the city's professional soccer scene when the Indy Eleven take on Rhode Island FC in a playoff game at Carroll Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to catch the midday performance of The Bejeweled Band: A Taylor Swift Tribute. The band will also be on stage at halftime and after the game.

Fans can make their own Indy Eleven-style friendship bracelets in the stadium's Best One Fun Zone.
