“Star Wars” meets “The Goonies” in new “Skeleton Crew” trailer

star Wars returns to the 80s with its latest series on Disney+. The new trailer for Skeleton crew makes it clear that star Jude Law is accompanied by a group of adventurous children whose can-do attitude is reminiscent of the children's characters from 80s classics of all ages such as: B. remembers The Goonies And ANDnot to mention the modern homage Stranger Things.

These kids come from a planet that looks downright suburban. Especially compared to the deserts of Tatooine or the skyscrapers of Coruscant, this planet would look right at home in a Steven Spielberg film based on Earth. They even get lectured by their parents for breaking the rules – but that doesn't stop them from finding a spaceship buried in the nearby forest. The biggest surprise of all is that the spaceship is actually functional and takes them all into hyperspace on an unexpected adventure.

First the children come across a kind of space station. At first everything seems fine until their use of Old Republic credits brings them unwanted attention. Then Law's Jod Na Nawood comes in and promises much-needed help.

“I’ll take you home,” he says, blaster in hand. “We will enter into a partnership. But we have to act quickly!”

Until now, Skeleton crew Seems to have a minimal number of lightsabers and Force users. But there are plenty of other sci-fi dangers to contend with.

“Be warned about booby traps, pirates and mountains where no one dares go,” a spiky droid tells them.

To combat these dangers, children must learn skills they didn't even know they had. Most of the group looks human, but one has more of an elephant face – he could be an Ortolan, like legendary drummer Max Rebo. His name is Neel and for a kid he seems pretty good at piloting a spaceship.

Skeleton crew was created by screenwriter Chris Ford and Spider-Man: Homecoming Director Jon Watts (which perhaps explains why Destin Daniel Cretton is replacing Watts as director of the next Tom Holland). Spider-Man Film). But in addition to Watts, Skeleton crew features an all-star roster of directors like Everything everywhere at once Oscar winners Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert; The Green Knight filmmaker David Lowery; Twister Director Lee Isaac Chung, who also worked on a third season episode of The Mandalorian; beefis Jake Schreier; and Bryce Dallas Howard, who directed three Mandalorian episodes and a sequence of The Book of Boba Fett.
