Two different Jets teams showed up Thursday night. The team in the first half looked a lot like the version that had lost five times in a row. The team in the second half looked like the version the Jets were supposed to be.

Receiver Garrett Wilson fueled the momentum thanks to a one-handed touchdown catch that was initially ruled out. The Jets challenged and the call was overturned. It gave New York its first lead of the game at 14-10.

Interim coach Jeff Ulbrich decided to contest the game, due in part to the peculiar nature of the reception.

“I spoke to the referee when they reviewed it,” Ulbrich told reporters. “I think, ‘Just for posterity’s sake, we have to say that this is in. Just so it goes down in history.' I mean, it would give Odell (Beckham) catching a run for his money. It was amazing. . . .

“It was close enough to definitely challenge. Luckily they got it right.”

The move for the Jets came after an ugly first half in which fans chanted “Sell the team.”

So what happened at halftime?

“It was a collective deal,” Ulbrich said. “It was players and coaches. We all spoke. . . . We came out and played Jets football in the second half.”

Wilson's efforts helped, as did quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who threw two touchdowns to Wilson and the game-winning touchdown to Davante Adams.

The win moves the Jets to 3-6. They still have a deep hole to dig themselves out of, but the hole isn't as deep as it would have been had they continued to play in the second half like they did in the first.
