Shohei Ohtani is now a World Series champion, but it's clear he wants more.

Shortly after the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees on Wednesday night to win the World Series in five games, Ohtani met with Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman. He immediately made a promise.

When the Dodgers gave Ohtani a 10-year, $700 million contract, the goal was to win championships. Accordingly The athleteOhtani found Friedman and said, “Okay. Nine more, nine more.”

The nine he's referring to are World Series titles. Ohtani's contract runs for nine years. So the greatest baseball player in the world said his goal is to win a title every year he plays with the Dodgers.

It's hard to argue that Ohtani had the best first season with a new franchise in MLB history. He hit .310, with 54 home runs, 130 RBIs, an OPS of 1.036 and stole 59 bases, becoming the first player to ever hit 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season. To top it all off, he led his team to the World Series title.

It will be difficult for Ohtani to top his 2024 season. But if someone can do it, he can do it.
