Roosterfish West Hollywood opens Halloween pop-up

Rootfish West Hollywoodlocated at 8948 Santa Monica Boulevard, opens Thursday, October 31st for the Halloween Carnival. According to her Instagram Accountthey stay open all weekend. A source tells WEHO TIMES that the event will be a pop-up, similar to the construction party they hosted for WeHo Pride last June. Their Halloween party is open from 7pm to 2am and features a live DJ line-up.

Construction and renovations are underway as future guests await the opening of the restaurant and bar that has taken over Lisa Vanderpump's former PUMP restaurant on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Robertson Boulevard in the heart of the LGBT Rainbow District. Photos suggest the space isn't quite ready for the grand opening, but Rooterfish is taking advantage of the Halloween weekend, which is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of partygoers to the area.

The Halloween carnival is free and open to the public. It will take place on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. along a one-mile section of historic Route 66 on Santa Monica Boulevard between N. Doheny Drive and N. La Cienega Boulevard. The event features a stage at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and N. San Vicente Boulevard with a live DJ set, food trucks and thousands of costumed revelers for a one-of-a-kind experience.

Their website states: “When (Roosterfish) first opened, it quickly established itself as a gay bar, welcoming only patrons of similar sexual orientation. Once this safe haven was claimed, patrons could drink in peace without being judged by an archaic-minded society… With the modern Roosterfish, its doors have reopened, welcoming all walks of life. One of the original bars along Mr. Kinney's Boulevard, it is part of a rare group of original restaurants along Abbot Kinney and embodies the openness that makes Venice, California as unique and special as it is! Roosterfish was one of the community’s first progressive bars, and the new owners have retained their namesake out of respect for the history Roosterfish has gone through.”
