Notes and thoughts:

• This was one of the worst times of the season for Penn State, losing key players to injuries. Drew Allar, Anthony Donkoh and Dani Dennis-Sutton all exited the game early. However, I think this was a big step forward for the team's strength on both sides of the ball.
• Nolan Rucci represented Donkoh well in his return to Madison. The future looks very bright on offense.
• It took him a few series to get going, but the Pribula offense looked about as dangerous as the Allar offense.
• Three different tight ends had at least 10 snaps. How refreshing it is to have an offensive coordinator who has a plan for how everyone can be involved in the offense.
• Jaylen Reed and Zakee Wheatley are my defensive MVPs of the season so far. They've been asked to do just about everything in Kevin Winston Jr.'s absence, and so far they've delivered in spades.
