Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager reveal a devastating Halloween tribute to the host's departure tonight

Hoda Kotb's 2024 Halloween costume appeared to be a subtle nod to her upcoming departure from the Today show, as she and co-host Jenna Bush Hager teamed up to dress up as Rose and Jack from Titanic.

The long-time presenter, 60, teamed up with her host once again for the channel's annual celebration, transforming herself into the characters made famous by Hollywood giants Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

The pair wowed the crowd outside the studio at New York's Rockefeller Center as they recreated the iconic scene at the bow of the ship while Céline Dion's “My Heart Will Go On” played at full speed.

“I trust you, Jack, I trust you with all my heart,” Jenna, 42, said while holding onto Hoda’s hand. “I will never let you go.”

“Do you promise?” Hoda asked before declaring her love.

The duo then entered a replica of the boat's bow and Hoda wrapped her arms around Jenna's waist as she stretched her arms out.

Many will know that James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster film ends with Leonardo's character Jack drowning in the Atlantic Ocean after the wooden door he was resting on began to sink.

Was Hoda's costume a devastating Easter egg for her impending departure?

Hoda announced in September that she would be leaving the show early next year after nearly seven years at the helm.

The anchor has been part of NBC News for 26 years, but after turning 60 in August, she decided it was time to “try something new.”

She wrote a letter to her colleagues explaining her decision: “As I write this, my heart is all over the map.”

“I know I'm making the right decision, but it's a painful decision.” And you are all the reason why.

“They say two things can be right at the same time and I feel that so deeply right now. “I love you and it's time for me to leave the show.

“My time at NBC was the longest professional romance of my life. But only because you accompanied me on this 26-year adventure.

“Looking back, the math is crazy. 26 years at NBC News – 10 years at Dateline, seven in the seven o'clock hour, 16 in the 10 o'clock hour.

She continued, “I imagine your faces and your families and how you have built me up and inspired me.”

“This is my heart singing.” “So many of my professional relationships have become my most treasured friendships.”

She then paid a heartbreaking tribute to Jenna, claiming she will “desperately” miss everyone she worked with on the popular morning show.

“Savannah: my rock,” she continued. “Jenna: my partner. Al: my longest friend on 30 Rock. Craig, Carson, Sheinelle and Dylan: my family. Libby, Mazz and Talia: my fearless leaders. I will dearly miss each and every one of you at Today.'

Elsewhere in the Today show's Halloween celebration, Al Roker and Dylan Dreyer appeared as Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz, Willie Geist dressed as Ron Burgundy from Anchorman and Carson Daly and Sheinelle Jones as Austin Powers and Foxxy Cleopatra from Goldmember.

Peter Alexander dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire, Laura Jerrett as Bring It On and Craig Melvin as Axel F. Foley from Beverly Hills Cop.

Last year, Jenna and Hoda dressed up as the legendary musical duo Sonny and Cher, with Hoda wearing a long, flowing pink dress, a long brown wig and huge hoop earrings.

Meanwhile, Jenna opted for a sparkly gold suit, a short brown wig and a mustache – much to her son Hal's shock.

Speaking to DailyMail.com at the time, she said: “I FaceTimed my son Hal, who thought I was Henry, which I take as a huge compliment.” “He says 'dad'?”

Hoda admitted she was too scared to call her daughters Hope and Haley. “They'll say, 'Who is he?'” she winced. “Hello, it’s me!”
