Perry died on October 28 last year from acute complications of ketamine. He was 54 years old. In August, five people — including Perry's personal assistant and two doctors — were accused of distributing ketamine to the actor in his final weeks.

Cox and Perry played opposite each other in all ten seasons Friendswhich followed the trials and tribulations faced by six friends living in New York City. Their characters became one of the sitcom's most popular couples, with the couple initially entering into a secret relationship before eventually going official, proposing to each other and welcoming a set of twins.

Cox's post comes a day after her co-star Aniston shared her own Instagram tribute to Perry, which included photos of the Friends cast. “1 year,” she captioned the snaps, before also linking to the Matthew Perry Foundation.

Last year Perrys' Friends The co-stars said in a joint statement that they were “completely devastated” by his death, before penning their own individual tributes. In her own message, Cox shared an excerpt from one of her scenes and said she was “grateful for every moment I had with you, Matty, and I miss you every day.”

She added: “When you work with someone as closely as I do with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share.”

Back in May, Cox revealed on CBS Mornings that she feels spiritually connected to Perry and that he still visits her. “You know, I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew – I feel like there's a lot of people that I think are guiding us,” she explained. “I feel, yes, I feel that Matthew is there. Safe.”
