Juan Soto is outspoken about free agency plans following the Yankees' loss in the World Series

Juan Soto was one of the last New York Yankees players to leave the dugout after the team lost the World Series with a 7-6 Game 5 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night.

The Yankees failed to deliver in crucial moments, and now Soto could be looking for his next team amid intense speculation about his future.

Soto's teammates and coaches have made their opinions clear: “Stay with us,” Giancarlo Stanton said in a postgame media session. But Soto, who joined the Yankees last December, is ready to test free agency this offseason.

The star slugger was asked if he expected the New York Mets to pursue him as a free agent and he gave a telling answer.

“I don’t know what teams will come after me,” Soto said. “But I’m definitely open to this and every single team. I didn't close any doors or anything like that. I will be available for all 30 teams.”

Not a good indication of his chances of staying in the Bronx.

The 26-year-old Soto helped the Yankees to their first World Series since 2009 by hitting .288/.419/.569 with 41 home runs and a league-best 128 runs batted in during the regular season. He is reportedly expected to receive a $500 million contract.

After the Yankees' crushing loss in the World Series, Soto reflected on his time with the team and discussed whether the Yankees would have an advantage in his upcoming free agency.

“It is always difficult to leave a place where there is a successful team. This place was really special. It was great fun for me. I was really happy,” Soto said.

“I feel like every team has an equal opportunity if I leave in free agency. I don’t want to say anyone has an advantage because at the end of the day we’re going to look at what he has and how much he wants me,” Soto continued.
