Fayetteville woman faces sex abuse charges after alleged victim showed police video

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) – A Fayetteville woman is accused of sexual assault after the alleged victim showed police a video of the incident, according to court documents.

Mary Marelle, 39, was arrested Oct. 25 on charges of second-degree sexual assault and terroristic threats.

A probable cause affidavit said a Goshen Police Department detective responded to a call on July 7 from someone who claimed he had been abused by Marelle in June.

The person went to the police station on July 30th. According to the report, the victim provided a statement and video and audio recordings of the incident.

In the video, Marelle is said to have kicked, punched, slapped and thrown objects at the victim. Marelle also allegedly removed her clothing, forced the victim to grab her body and said she was going to kill her.

Marelle was released from the Washington County Detention Center on Oct. 26 on $7,500 bail and was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim. She is scheduled to appear in court on November 15.
