Agatha All Along Episode 8 & 9 Easter Eggs & Marvel References

This article covers a developing story. Keep checking in with us as we will add more information as it becomes available.

Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Agatha All Along Episodes 8 and 9Agatha all the time Episodes 8 and 9 are full of Marvel Easter eggs, references, and more exciting nods to the larger MCU. The end of the Witch's Path brings with it some very exciting twists and turns. As such, there are many exciting connections to the original Marvel comics in this brand new two-episode MCU finale.

With Lilia Calderu's sacrifice at the end Agatha all the time Episode 7, these new episodes begin with only Billy (Joe Locke), Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) and Jennifer Hale (Sasheer Zamata) as the only members of the coven still on the Witch Road. To that end, here are the biggest Easter eggs and reveals Agatha all the time Episodes 8 and 9.

21 “Rio presents the complete Lady Death look from the comic book look”

Hood, crown, skull

It has been shown to be similar to the Lilia tarot cards Agatha all the time In Episode 7, Aubrey Plaza's Rio makes her full debut as Lady Death, as she appears in the original Marvel comics. This includes a dark black cloak and hood, although compared to death as depicted on the page, only the lower half of her face is a skull.

20 “The Sacred Balance”

A subtle comic reference to Thanos?

Speaking to Agatha, Rio confirms that Billy's taking over of William Kaplan's body is an abomination to the “holy balance.” Although no direct connection is made, it is worth noting that Thanos himself had a romantic relationship with Lady Death, whose mission in the MCU was to bring cosmic balance to the entire universe by ending half of all life (as seen in ). Avengers: Infinity War And Endgame).

19 Agatha is revealed to be the one who tied up Jennifer

For 100 years

Agatha all the time Episode 3 revealed that a doctor in Boston had placed a spell on Jennifer 100 years earlier. However, this was news to Agatha in Episode 8, confirming that she was the one who sold the binding spell to the doctor, allowing Jennifer to finally break the binding and regain her power.

18 Lines from the finale of WandaVision

Billy hears Wanda and Vision's voices

17 Wanda and Vision in the season finale of WandaVision

As Agatha helps Billy's Wicca locate and locate a vessel for Tommy's spirit, Billy can hear the voices of Wanda Maximoff and Vision just before the Scarlet Witch brought down the Hex over Westview WandaVisions Final. Vision is heard telling the boys that he is proud of them both, while Wanda thanks the boys for choosing her as their mother.

16 White and blue shoes for Tommy

Complete with the letter “S” for speed

Billy and Agatha eventually find a jar containing a drowned boy (presumably Thomas Shepard). While his face is not seen, the boy's blue and white shoe is seen with the letter “S”, most likely standing for Speed, Tommy's superhero name when he and Wiccan join the Young Avengers in the comics.

15 Wiccan's full comic costume

No longer just a Halloween costume

When Agatha leaves the witch's road, she meets Lady Death right at the end Agatha all the time Episode 8. However, it is also aided by the arrival of Billy, wearing his full red and blue Wiccan costume from the comics. So it's pretty exciting to see the full outfit and not just the Halloween version that younger Billy wore WandaVision.

14 Agatha's Wandavision costume

Her strength restored

Harkness offers Agatha some of his power and is shown in her final costume, seen in the finale of WallVision. Likewise, it's also the one in which she dies after giving herself up to save Wicca from Lady Death, who demanded a body.

13 Wiccan leaves Westview in Wanda's mirror

From the finale of WandaVision

When Wicca leaves Agatha's house and Westview, it largely mirrors the finale of WandaVision with Wanda. Both Maximoffs pull up their hoods and leave town in what appears to be an intentionally mirrored depiction inspired by the original MCU finale.

12 More movie posters in Billy's Room

Buffy, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Saw, Carrie

Poster in Billy's room in Agatha Episode 8:9

There are different movie posters in Billy's room than in William's room. This includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Seen, CarrieAnd The Rocky Horror Picture Show. However, The Wizard of Oz stays between the two shows.

11 Everything in Billy's room has something to do with Witch Street

The Wizard of Oz, leaves and more

When Billy accidentally realizes that he created Witch Street with his power, the young wizard sees various elements in his room that inspired the room's creation. “Better than he imagined.” This also includes the yellow brick road The Wizard of Ozthe colorful trees and leaves, a painting of the ocean house by Agatha all the time Episode 3, and more.

10 “Wiccan Creating Road” confirms Lilia’s reading

Powers of Creation (The Demiurge?)

Lilia's tarot reading for Billy from the previous episode is referenced in Agatha all the time Episode 8, which confirms his powerful ability over creation itself “turn your goals into reality”. This could be a nod to Wiccan's fated future in the comics as a powerful Demiurge.

9 “Made from scratch”

Nicholas' name from the comics

Agatha gives birth to Nicholas Scratch

The beginning of Agatha all the time Episode 9 begins with Agatha's birth of her son Nicholas Scratch in 1750. Agatha confirms that she did not use a spell or incantation to bring him into existence and says that she created him.from scratch“, a new MCU origin for his classic name in the original Marvel comics.

8 Ballad Bell

Stolen by Nicholas

Nicholas Scratch and Witches Road Bell

Six years later, Agatha's son is shown stealing a bell from a witch and luring her and her fellow sisters to his mother, who kills them and usurps their power. However, this is the same bell that Agatha uses at the beginning of the ballad's first performance in the show Agatha all the time Episode 2.

7 The ballad was the song of St. Nicholas

Connects to his room in Agatha's premiere

Agatha all the time Episode 9 confirms that the ballad was originally created by Nicholas Scratch and his mother, which Agatha would use after his death to attract more witches and take away their power. Therefore, this revelation explains Nicholas' room Agatha all the time Episode 1, in which Nicholas received a singing award (created in reality by Wanda's magic for Agatha).

6 “Use your purple”

Also makes a connection to Agatha Premiere

Rio Vidal breaks into Agatha's house in Agatha All Along Episode 1

While living in the forest, Nicholas asks his mother if she can.Use her purple,” refers to her purple magical powers. However, this is also related Agatha All Along's Premiere in which Harkness convinces Rio not to kill her until she “Get her purple back”.

5 Dandelion seeds in Agatha's locket

A memory with Nicholas

In Agatha all the time Episode 8: Agatha uses a dandelion seed from her locket to complete the final trial on the Witch's Road. For this purpose, Agatha all the time In episode 9, Nicholas and Agatha blow on dandelions and explain how the seed got into the locket in the first place.

4 Agatha was behind the Witches Road myth

All the time and over time

After Aubrey Plaza's Lady Death kidnaps Nicholas (after giving Agatha six years rather than kidnapping him outright), Agatha goes on a sinister killing spree, using the Witch Street myth created in the ballad to tempt covens of witches into seizing her power to take over. Thus Agatha is shown singing the ballad with various circles over the centuries, building up the myth of the road and its dangers, when in reality she is simply expanding her own magical abilities.

3 Agatha presents classic Marvel comics look

Spooky (and old)

After sacrificing herself to save Wicca Agatha all the time In episode 8, a much older Agatha appears to Billy as a ghost Agatha all the time Episode 9. With her white hair and a new costume, Agatha looks very similar to the original and much older Agatha who first appeared in the comics. While the new look is very accurate, it's also quite ironic considering many thought the MCU would simply give Harkness the one white streak in her hair, mirroring Agatha's current and newer design on the page (which was done , so she (I would be more like Kathryn Hahn's version).

2 “We would be a good team”

Reflects the 2016 Scarlet Witch comic arc

Ghost Agatha's suggestion that she and Billy's Wiccans join forces feels like a deliberate nod to 2016 Scarlet Witch led by James Robinson and Vanesa Del Rey. Not only was this the first appearance of the real Witch Street (which represents a real location in the comics), but also Wanda walking down the street alongside the ghost of Agatha, who served as her ally and spirit guide.
