What you should know

  • Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the first for a 3-0 lead that increased to 4-0 in the second and 5-0 in the third.
  • A sloppy defensive performance by New York in the fifth inning gave the Dodgers their first points.
  • A sacrifice fly by Giancarlo Stanton in the bottom of the sixth put Juan Soto ahead for New York to take a 6-5 lead, but LA came back in the bottom of the eighth and never looked back.
  • Star starter Walker Buehler came into the game in the ninth inning and retired the Yankees to end the game for LA
  • Yankees ace Gerrit Cole faced Dodgers righty Jack Flaherty, who was subbed out in the second.
  • The Dodgers won their eighth World Series and first since 2020.

The New York Yankees avoided a win against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Now their mission is to bring the World Series back to the West Coast in 2024.

The Dodgers lead the Fall Classic 3-1 after the Yankees earned an 11-4 victory in Game 4 on Tuesday. While New York staved off elimination, it still has a long way to go to become the first team to win from a 3-0 series deficit in the World Series.

New York will turn to top man Gerrit Cole for Game 5 as the team looks to move one step closer to history and capture their 28th World Series title. The Dodgers, meanwhile, give a nod to veteran righty Jack Flaherty.
