New York Yankees fan who ripped ball from Mookie Betts should be banned from MLB

The New York Yankees defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers to avoid losing in the World Series on Tuesday night. But this story was overshadowed by an idiot Yankees fan who deserves to be banned from the sport.

In the first inning, Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts jumped the wall in foul territory and caught a popup from Gleyber Torres. What should have been routine in foul territory was ruined when idiot fan Austin Capobianco grabbed Betts' glove and tried to pry the ball out.

Capobianco's friend John Peter struggled with Betts' ungloved hand to really help his buddy pry the baseball out.

Disclaimer. It didn't work. The out was recorded. And the two idiots were immediately thrown out.

While his colleagues in New York probably consider him a hero this morning, any normal person would have woken up feeling incredibly embarrassed because the Yankees won that game 11-4 and stayed alive in the World Series, making fools of themselves on national television hold.

You wake up and see that you're the top story on ESPN. Not because they did anything heroic, but because they were a major nuisance on a national level.

ESPN actually met the fans at a local bar after they were ejected from the game, and their reasoning for why they made an ass of themselves on national television is almost worse than the act that led to them doing it in the first place were removed from Yankee Stadium.

“We always joke about the ball in our area,” Capobianco said. “We won’t bother attacking. If it is in our range, we will go up “D”. Someone defends, someone hits the ball. We talk about it. We are ready for this.” This.”

Oh, that's good to hear. They won’t bother planning deliberate “attacks.” But when an opposing player comes into what they consider to be their area, the duo plays defense. News alert! You are not a professional athlete. You are not a professional athlete. I don't play defense. Sit in your damn seat like the rest of the 46,535 fans at Yankee Stadium and stay off the field.

“I know when I'm in the wrong, and as soon as I did, I was like, 'Guys, I'm out of here,'” he said. “I patrol the wall and they know it.”

Congratulations, buddy. You patrolled the hell out of the wall and missed New York's best performance in the World Series.

The MLB should intervene and revoke his season tickets.

If he was a remorseful drunk kid just running around the field or something like that, then that's something you can come back from in life after spending an evening at the stadium. But this guy?

He could have actually injured Betts' wrist and changed the outcome of the entire World Series. The audacity to brag about it afterwards in front of the world market leader in sports is simply insane.

Get this guy away from baseball. Even further: Keep this guy away from all professional sports.
