Jenn and Stephen compete against each other!

Jenn and Stephen both danced salsa to “Jump In the Line” by Harry Belafonte Beetlejuice.

Although neither of them had any experience dancing salsa, Jenn and Stephen were determined to win the judges' hearts and win the extra points.

“I am an Olympic athlete. I have the stamina to do salsa in circles around Jen all night,” Stephen told the cameras, before Jenn quipped: “Stephen, you may be Superman, but I'm Superwoman.”

When the performance was over, the jury had their work cut out for them.

The trio admitted the decision was difficult as Jenn and Stephen had very different dance styles.

“I don't know if it's apples and oranges, so we'll see what we decide,” shrugged Carrie Ann before the jury made a decision.

Winners: Jenn and Sasha

Dwight and Ilona are in a head-to-head race

At the first dance-off of the night, Dwight and Ilona performed the Cha Cha to “Ghostbusters” by Ray Parker Jr.

In a video package played before their performance, both groups learned how crucial the three extra points would be to their final result.

“We both play two very competitive sports, and we're two very competitive people, so I've got to beat this guy,” Ilona told the cameras, before Dwight promised, “This will be the best Cha Cha.”

The couples then took the stage and performed at exactly the same time. Both participants hit their mark and danced their hearts out in their respective performances.

Although Carrie Ann said Dwight's movements were very “precise and beautiful” in the beginning, she said that Ilona was more “technically sound.”

Chandler has a secret

Despite being the only couple to receive immunity for the dance-offs, Chandler was determined to show up and perform at this week's dance.

While preparing for her Viennese waltz to Denmark + Winter's “Secret,” the actress admitted that her Halloween nightmare was inspired by a spooky doll she found in her grandmother's house.

“When I'm there, she just randomly moves around the house, and then I realized it was my brothers and cousins pranking me,” she said of the doll.

When it was time for the couple to perform, the duo captured the beauty and serenity of the waltz as they glided and swept across the floor.

Bruno admitted he was completely “spellbound” by her performance and compared her dance to a “haunting gothic novel.”

While Carrie Ann confessed that she expected a little more technique from her performance, Derek said her dancing was “absolute perfection.”

Stephen conquers the darkness

Stephen confronted his fear of the dark in his contemporary dance to “I Ran (So Far Away)” by Hidden Citizens.

In a video package played before his performance, the Olympian confessed that his fear of the dark was due to his lack of vision. Without glasses, Stephen revealed he has no “depth perception” and explained that bright light can be very “painful”.

The gymnast channeled his fear into the dance, wowing the judges and using his strength to his advantage as he crawled using only his hands. Stephen became the epitome of darkness itself as he dragged his partner Rylee across the dance floor.

“You’ve found your dramatic personality,” Bruno told the couple. “You have completely lost yourself in character. You became someone else and gave us something special and beautiful.”

Joey is a “scaredy cat”

As he prepared for his Argentine tango to “Ramalama (Bang Bang)” by Róisín Murphy, Joey confessed that he was a “scared cat” and delved deep into his fears of puppets and ventriloquists.

To get into character and get into the Halloween spirit, Joey and Jenna attended a haunted hayride on a double date with their partners Kelsey Anderson and Val Chmerkovskiy.

“See how committed they are to their character? This is what I need from you,” Jenna said to Joey before a scary actor appeared and scared the four of them.

During their actual performance, Joey and Jenna upped the ante, meticulously hitting their mark and dominating the dance floor.

“You're the ultimate puppeteer because you're always in control when you dance, my friend, which is a huge compliment,” Derek remarked. “For me there was a moment, maybe two moments, when I felt like going on the lift, it felt a little unstable, but my friend, you are amazing.”

Jenn gets advice from a vampire veteran

1 hour and 3 minutes ago

Before Jenn performed her contemporary routine to Olivia Rodrigo's “Vampire,” she was given a few pointers about portraying a fearsome vampire Buffy Alum, Alyson Hannigan.

“I've dated a lot of vampires in the past and they drained the energy out of me,” Jenn told the cameras before receiving a crash course from Alyson.

As Jenn's partner Sasha and Alyson walked her through the routine, Alyson had a few poignant words for the judges.

“If Jen commits to this energy of the vampire, she will get something higher than an eight,” the actress said. “If not, I will turn it into a vampire and attack the judges.”

When it was time for their performance, Jenn and Sasha glided through the dance beautifully, moving fluidly as the couple hit all of their points. Jenn was in control of her personality and her movements — and the judges agreed.

“You had the overview the whole time,” Bruno said. “You were actually in charge of the dance and won it, darling.”

Derek added: “It was so amazing. You were in your role the whole time. I love this journey, I love this partnership.”

Danny says hello to his biggest fear

1 hour and 16 minutes ago

Before Danny and his partner Witney hit the dance floor, the soccer player overcame his fear by hitting a real snake before their Argentinian tango to RAVN's “Poison.”

“The snake is a slimy, disgusting creature. It gives me goosebumps,” he said in front of cameras. “I took care of the snake. Now it’s time for me to take care of the Argentine tango.”

During their performance, Danny demonstrated how he conquered his fears through dance. As he impressively lifted and spun Witney into the air, the duo delivered another fantastic performance.

“I need an antidote. You can bite me anytime!” Derek joked, while Carrie added: “Those lifts were so difficult. You nailed the character so precisely.”

Dwight takes on the Boogeyman

1 hour and 24 minutes ago

Dwight faced his nightmares by embodying his fear and becoming the boogeyman in his contemporary dance to “Ring Around The Rosie” by District 78 featuring Natalia Lillee.

During rehearsals, Dwight and his partner Daniella thought about finishing at the bottom of the leaderboard for another week. Daniella was honest with Dwight, pointing out that the former NBA player hadn't been able to complete a mistake-free routine the entire time.

“I'm not afraid of anything, so my goal is to become someone everyone is afraid of. I'm going to be this nightmarish, scary character,” he told the cameras. “I want this dance to feel like people are watching a horror movie.”

True to his word, Dwight nailed his routine and after toppling, spinning and lifting Daniella into the air, the judges had nothing but positive feedback.

“(It was) literally scary. These exercises and tricks were so dangerous, so dynamic. “Seriously, I've never seen you more focused and determined than you were tonight,” Derek Hough said before Carrie Ann Inaba gave the duo their first “10” of the season.
