Where to find Election Day food and drink deals in the DC area

Election stress is hitting DC particularly hard. Luckily, this also applies to the city's food and drink offerings on Election Day. Look out for these special offers on Tuesday November 5th:

201 Massachusetts Ave., NE

This Election Day, NoMa's Union Pub will ask the question: What if the Electoral College was run by pubs? Starting at 5 p.m., $10 orders of the blue, red and purple drinks count toward the “270 Challenge” — if 270 of these vodka cocktails are sold by the end of the night, the entire bar gets a round of shots. Special Choice-themed menus will be available starting at 11 a.m. Highlights include JD's Couch Potato Martini, They're Eating the Dogs mini corn dogs and the Kamala is Brat bratwurst special. Expect a full house.

Get your mind off the presidential election with a cocktail competition as two limited-time martinis compete against each other at this Italian spot in the Mount Vernon Triangle. One candidate is fruity and floral – made with grapefruit-infused tequila and Aperitivo Rosato – and the other contains pepper brine for a zesty kick. The winning drink gets a permanent place on the bar menu. Additionally, the restaurant's $7 Martini specials will also be available in the main bar on November 5th from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

4747 Bethesda Ave., Bethesda

Mike Friedman's popular pizzerias are getting into the election mood with their own poll. To “vote,” order one of the competing pies – Standard, Buona or Sedgwick – directly from the All-Purpose and AP Pizza Shop websites on November 5th. Those who voted for the winning (most ordered) pizza will win a ticket for a free drink for their next visit to either restaurant.

1601 14th St., NW

Don't want to leave the house on election night? This French spot in Logan Circle has you covered: The restaurant offers a watch party snack package with antipasti like salamis, gougeres, and marinated olives. The package, which comes in a branded carry bag, also includes a printed cheese board and a pack of tissues. Price is $125 and delivery is November 5th via Doordash.

974 Palmer Alley., NW

This Italian dining room at CityCenterDC will be closed on Election Day, giving employees a paid day off to vote. But for $150, you can purchase a ready-to-cook meal kit for two that includes a green salad, pumpkin kale lasagna, red snapper, kabocha squash crostata, and wine. Order by Saturday November 2nd and pick up between 5pm and 9pm on November 4th or between 9am and 12pm on November 5th.

1200 19th St., NW

Peter Chang's modern Chinese shop is serving takeout comfort food packages available for pickup at his Dupont restaurant on November 4th and 5th. The $120 packages — filled with dishes like fried dumplings, lo mein and matcha cake — feed four people. Pre-order at traditional or vegetarian Menu online until 10:00 a.m. on November 1st.

116 Rhode Island Ave., NW

This Bloomingdale pub is offering happy hour specials all night on November 5, as well as themed drink specials (think Kamala's Coconut Daiquiri with Cotton & Reed rum). Tuesday night trivia continues as usual at 6:00 p.m., but has a special political theme.

520 Florida Ave., NW

A $99 pass to the election night party at this neighborhood hangout gets you access to a four-hour open bar, buffet dinner, and hors d'oeuvres while the news broadcasts on the venue's TVs. Tickets are available at Eventbrite.

1200 19th St., NW

If there's one thing you can expect from a Theodore Roosevelt-style bar, it's an election night party. On November 5, enjoy an extended happy hour (including a free buffet with bar snacks like wings and sliders), $1.50 oysters from 5 to 7 p.m., and specialty cocktails.

1337 14th St., NW

Watch the returns at this Logan Circle beer bar while enjoying $5 American lagers and draft beers. Also on the special Election Day menu: Plain flatbread for $10 and a “non-partisan” flatbread (half topped with duck confit and roasted pumpkin) for $15.
