San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is on pace to become one of the highest-paid players in NFL history, and some predict he could even take the top spot. The 49ers have benefited from Purdy's minimal salary cap space due to his rookie contract and the fact that he was the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. However, that will change in the coming years.

Cornerback Deommodore Lenoir, who faces Purdy every day in practice, expects his quarterback to earn a significant payday when the time comes. The 49ers are preparing to host the Dallas Cowboys, who have their own highly paid quarterback in Dak Prescott, who is currently the league's top earner at $60 million per year.

When asked about facing such a highly paid player, Lenoir seemed surprised by Prescott's earnings, but quickly acknowledged Prescott's value.

“It’s a big contract for him,” Lenoir noted. “I like that. I love that for him. But I'm also coaching against a $60 million quarterback. Yes, he just hasn't been paid yet. He'll break the bank. Kudos to Brock.”

Purdy is coming off one of his toughest games as a starter after throwing three interceptions in the 49ers' disappointing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite the setback, his standing within the organization remains strong.

“This happened to Joe Montana. I’m sure he’s had bad games,” general manager John Lynch said Friday morning. “It’s hard to remember because he did so many great things. But Brock has done a lot of really good things and we have every confidence that after a bad performance he will bounce back and play.” So.

“He is a confident boy. He will always get ready to play and he will play for us. We have all the faith in the world that he will do that. I have all the faith in the world that he will do that.”

Regarding Sunday's showdown with Prescott, Lenoir expressed his respect for the Cowboys' quarterback, saying, “I think he's a great quarterback for what he's done in this league, for all the games he's won, games.” , in which he played. He has a lot. “We have a lot of experience, so it will be a very good duel for us.”
