Dr. Phil supports Donald Trump at the Madison Square Garden rally

Dr. Phil McGraw appeared at Donald Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden and told the crowd that the former president was “tough as an old army boot” and rejected the idea that he was a bully.

McGraw had interviewed Trump for his network Merit Street Media earlier this year, when the former daytime anchor said he did not support candidates but sided with the former president's claims that his prosecutions were rigged.

At today's rally, McGraw said he was “not just here to stand up for Donald J. Trump.” God knows he doesn't need me to stand up for him. He's as tough as an old army boot. He has many enemies, different groups that are afraid, and they have accused him, accused him, raided him, harassed him, shot him and sued him. And where is he? He’s still standing.”

McGraw said he can “be honest and say that I don't like or agree with anything Donald J. Trump does or says.”

“No person is perfect. We don't strive for perfection. “We strive for excellence,” he said, “but you don’t have to love everything about someone to love them, and the last thing they need is celebrity endorsement.”

McGraw spent much of his remarks claiming that Trump supporters were being harassed and silenced, telling the crowd: “When you attack a citizen and use the power of the internet, you are using mob mentality, you are inciting mob mentality.” “To encourage people to band together and trigger boycotts,” then it’s more than ugly. And that’s exactly what’s happening in this country right now, and it’s not okay.”

He added: “There is an imbalance of power and it is time for each of us to work together. “We must stop this now. It’s time we stand up against cancel culture. It’s time we stood up against intimidation tactics.”
