Former NBA point guard Baron Davis shared on social media that he met JJ Redick at a car wash where he saw the Los Angeles Lakers head coach reviewing game film on his laptop.

Davis called Redick a “player's coach” in his first year as head coach, adding that “the Lakers are in great hands,” and ended with the hashtag “#dedication.”

Redick has received widespread recognition from NBA fans for bringing a new perspective to the Lakers franchise as they started the season with a 2-0 record.

After the Lakers' 123-116 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, Anthony Davis praised Redick for holding the team back despite a sizable 48-26 deficit.

Redick, the Lakers' fourth head coach in a decade, helped the Lakers start 2-0 for the first time since the 2010-2011 season, which was led by head coach Phil Jackson and NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

The Lakers will look to extend their perfect start Saturday at home against the Sacramento Kings.
