Brad Marchand sank a rebound with 2:34 left in overtime as the Boston Bruins responded to the Toronto Maple Leafs' game-winning goal late in regulation to claim a 4-3 victory Saturday night.

The Boston captain put the puck in the left crease and beat Toronto goaltender Anthony Stolarz (30 saves) for his first goal of the season after David Pastrnak received a slap pass from the right circle.

Marchand and Pastrnak each recorded a goal and an assist to lead Boston, which is 0-2-1 in its last three games.

Justin Brazeau and Mark Kastelic scored the game-winning goal and the go-ahead shot within 36 seconds of each other, erasing the Bruins' 2-1 second-period deficit.

From then on, Boston allowed just two shots on goal in the first 17 minutes of the third period and maintained a 3-2 lead until Auston Matthews (one goal, one assist) went to the net at 1:17 and cleared the ball completely left in regulation.

Jeremy Swayman made 20 saves for the Bruins, who had a 34-23 edge in shots.

Matthew Knies and Morgan Rielly scored Toronto's first two goals, and Mitch Marner had three assists.

The Bruins couldn't take advantage of William Nylander's double minor to the high-hitting Pastrnak at 8:24 of the second, but the quick goals came shortly after the four-minute power play expired.

Brazeau tied the score at 2-2 at 12:38 by covering a rebound in the right crease after Stolarz made back-to-back stops on Matthew Poitras and Trent Frederic.

Boston's outstanding fourth line then made it a 3-2 lead with the second quick goal as Jon Beecher put Kastelic ahead at 13:14.

Knies needed just 35 seconds in the second period to score the first goal, firing a rebound into the net after Matthews put the puck right into the net.

The Boston power play passed the puck around precisely and tied the score after 2:57. Brad Marchand made a pass from the slot to Pastrnak in the left circle, where he deflected a shot past the Stolarz blocker.

A 4-on-4 sequence allowed Rielly to beat the Maple Leafs at 7:44, thanks to a one-time shot from a knee off Mitch Marner's feed into the slot.
