When “Shara Bullet” faced what was probably his toughest test yet, he achieved a record victory and secured victory.

In the opening match of the UFC 308 main card, Shara Magmomedov defeated Armen Petrosyan by TKO due to a double backfist at 4:52 of round 2. The event took place at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

The middleweight bout was fought at a fast pace with both fighters showcasing their passion for kicks. Magomedov (15-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) used his signature spinning attacks, although flare seemed to dominate substance for much of the fight.

Petrosyan (9-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) landed some hard punches in the opening minutes, but Magomedov put on a strong performance toward the end of the first round.

In round 2, Petrosyan struggled to maintain his kicks. Referee Kerry Hatley intervened several times after Petrosyan's shots into the cup.

But Magomedov persevered. He then landed the first double backfist knockout in UFC history. He turned first and scored with a left-spinning punch. He then turned in the opposite direction as he recoiled and hit Petrosyan again, this time with a fist spinning to the left.

The incredible sequence left Petrosyan slumping on the screen. No more shots were needed before Hatley stopped the fight.

Magomedov remains undefeated as he continues to expand his presence and popularity. Before Saturday's fights, he defeated Bruno Silva, Antonio Trocoli and Michal Oleksiejczuk.

Petrosyan starts to skid. Saturday's loss was only his second professional defeat by TKO.
