Pick'em: Week 9 – AuburnSports: Auburn Tigers football and basketball recruiting

AUBURN | Every week, the staff and friends of AuburnSports.com make their predictions about Auburn and the best college football games across the country.

WHAT YOU THINK

Caleb Jones (7-348-22)a river rat in a kayak

Auburn 27-24

This team is currently just a few mistakes away from four wins and I think this week is finally the week that Auburn puts it all together. Kentucky's defense gave up nearly 500 yards of offense to Florida last week. I believe Auburn can and will move the ball in Lexington. If Jarquez Hunter gets a similar workload to last week, I think these numbers will be better, which could open up better opportunities for the Tigers' receiving core. Combine that with a strong defense and Auburn gets its first SEC win of the year. I'll take the Tigers.

Jay G. Tate (2-843-27)always served with frosty toppings.

Auburn 23-17

Auburn is a good, solid team and I will scream this potentially disastrous view until it is proven wrong. I know the record. Kentucky is beatable and these Tigers have some good breakthroughs ahead of them. That would be something different! I believe the ground game will be the driving force behind this – both Hunter and Thorne.

Henry Patton (5-542-28)He likes huge gas stations with beaver mascots.

Kentucky 17-16

I think Auburn is the more talented team here and should win this game. However, they have to win a game before I pick them. Kentucky's front four is as good as it gets in this league, but the secondary is a little rough. Can Auburn take advantage? I have some doubts. I don't know, I think it's going to be an ugly game and I'm picking Kentucky because Auburn hasn't proven it doesn't fall apart late in games. Maybe this is the week they put it all together.

Brian Stultz (4-642-28)a lover of Murder, She Wrote and romantic comedies.

Kentucky 27-20

This has to be the first time Auburn has been an underdog to Kentucky in football since Vegas started publishing lines about college football. When things get close, I don't trust the Tigers to make the plays they need to, especially against a strong defense that only Florida (FLORIDA!) seems to be able to solve this season. I'm excited to see how the Tigers recover from last week. I just can't imagine them leaving Commonwealth Field (it will never be Kroger Field for me) with a win.

WHAT YOU THINK (continued)

Hunter Adams (3-740-30)your mom's favorite soccer coach.

Kentucky 24-17

Auburn will play hard, but until they show they can find ways to win difficult games, it's hard to have confidence.

Bill Cameron (4-639-31)Auburn radio institution and still in the groove of the 70s.

Kentucky 24-16

Fool me four times, I can't keep rooting for the Tigers. To their credit, we haven't seen any signs of Auburn quitting YET, and they are WAY overdue for some breaks, but Mark Stoops; The Cats will be looking to avoid a winless SEC home schedule, and their defense is pretty darn good. It will be difficult to score points, but the Tigers seem to find a way to fail again.

Bryan Matthews (2-8, 38-32)I would like a milkshake straw with that.

Kentucky 17-6

There's no way I'm picking Auburn to win this game. The offense was atrocious against Missouri and faces a better defense this week. I just hope Payton Thorne doesn't get fired on the first game for the third straight game. This team lacks mental and physical strength and I would be surprised if they suddenly found it in Lexington.

Dan Peck (4-6, 37-33)the other guy from The Drive and film noir fan.

Auburn 21-20

Auburn's loss to Missouri would be the worst loss in the program's history in many places; It was only Saturday for Auburn.
