LOS ANGELES – The Dodgers will try to earn a second straight victory against the Yankees in Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium.

Freddie Freeman played hero in the opener, winning Game 1 with a walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning. The Dodgers haven't had a two-game to zero series since the 2020 NLDS.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto is on the rise for the Dodgers, making his fourth start this postseason. After allowing five runs in three innings in Game 1 of the NLDS against San Diego, Yamamoto allowed two runs in 9⅓ innings with 10 strikeouts in his last two starts.

With left-hander Carlos Rodón starting on the mound for the Yankees, the Dodgers will have Miguel Rojas at shortstop, who was reinstated to the roster Friday after missing the NLCS to rest his adductor tear, manager Dave Roberts also said.

Kiké Hernández will also be in the lineup, likely at second base in place of left-hander Gavin Lux, while Tommy Edman kicks back to center field. However, the focus will be on the core lineups of both teams. Rodón was asked Friday if he would face Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freeman and others.

“I know they have good hitters, but we’re here for a reason, I’m here for a reason,” Rodón said. “Yes, I’m here, I’m a big leaguer too. I'm supposed to get these guys out. That’s what I get paid for.”

Before Game 2, Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp will throw ceremonial first pitches at Dodger Stadium, and Ice Cube will also appear on the field.
