Last year, Nike's rollout of Devin Booker's first signature basketball shoe was a huge success. Fans eventually took to the polarizing design, but the lack of exciting colorways and limited supply prevented any momentum for the new sneaker.

As Booker begins his second season in the Nike Book 1, it seems like he and his sneaker sponsor have learned lessons from last year. Offerings have increased and styles are improving significantly.

Last night, Booker and the Phoenix Suns won their season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers 116-113. With Booker in Los Angeles, it was fitting that he debuted a collegiate colorway for the USC Trojans.

Thanks to the Suns' social media team, the sneaker community was treated to some incredible images of the sneakers. Below is a detailed overview and breakdown of the kicks.

During last night's game, Booker debuted the Nike Book 1 in the “USC Trojans” colorway. The silhouette featured a Cardinal upper contrasted by gold Swoosh logos and outsoles. A fresh shade of white accented the design, while a retro USC logo provided the finishing touch.

Unfortunately, the “USC Trojans” colorway will not be released to the public. The bright side is that online shoppers can choose from multiple colorways of the $120 Nike Book 1 in adult sizes on Nike's website.

This is the second collegiate colorway Booker has worn during an NBA game. Earlier this month, the Suns guard debuted the “Michigan State Spartans” colorway during a preseason game against the Detroit Pistons. This could be the start of an exciting trend at Booker.

It's safe to assume that Booker will show his love to his alma mater, the Kentucky Wildcats, as well as other Nike-sponsored college basketball programs throughout the season. In the meantime, college players will also be rocking additional player-exclusive colorways of the Nike Book 1 on the court.
