Buddy Hield makes NBA history in Golden State Warriors vs. Utah Jazz

Buddy Hield's arrival in the Bay Area caused quite a stir. Well, the Golden State Warriors have started their first two games of the season on the road, but the message remains. He helped the team to a 140-107 win in the season opener and fired up the Utah Jazz in the first half of the second game.

The veteran sharpshooter made an impact with a few other franchises before joining the Warriors last offseason, but since donning the Golden State jersey, his presence has become more than known.

In the first half against the Jazz, Hield scored 24 points and knocked down six of his seven 3-point attempts to help the team take a big lead. After the fast start, a stat was revealed via @WarriorsMuse that Hield made NBA history with 3-pointers in his first two games with a franchise, knocking down 11 3-pointers in two games.

The catch? Hield did this in just six quarters. He is absolutely at full speed with his new team.

This was one of two ways Hield made history in the game, as he also moved to 21st all-time in three-pointers.

On Warriors on X: β€œOn the way up. Buddy is now 21st all-time in three-pointers.”

After his first game for the club, Hield recalled his time as a college basketball player, when he was a superstar for the Oklahoma Sooners.

β€œI don’t want to bring it up, but I think the last time I was this free was in Oklahoma,” Hield said.

It appears Hield has a place in a franchise that helped revolutionize the 3-point shot, and playing in Steve Kerr's system is only helping him be even more successful.
