CNN anchor Anderson Cooper got into a heated argument with Charlamagne Tha God over the media's coverage of Donald Trump vs. Kamala Harris during the radio personality's appearance on the network Thursday night.

The bitter back-and-forth began when Charlamagne accused news outlets like CNN of failing to report on Trump's “fascist” behavior and comments during his visit to Cooper's show, while giving airtime to false conspiracies like whether Harris was black.

“It's crazy because there are still no news channels that are having this discussion. For example, if someone says, if someone questions Kamala Harris's blackness or whether she is a DEI worker, you will have all the discussions about it and ask that question.”

“How come we don’t have a panel asking whether Donald Trump is a fascist? Actually, he doesn’t even ask, he tells,” Charlamagne said. “How come this isn’t the topic of discussion every day on networks like CNN?”

“I talk about it every night,” Cooper replied.

But Charlamagne didn't back down on his “Trump is a fascist” question.

“I don’t think you all have enough conversations about this,” the radio show host said. “I feel like I'm getting more on this channel about 'Is Kamala Harris black?' heard. than I think about Donald Trump being a fascist.”

“Honestly, that’s bullshit…” Cooper shot back. “I'm sorry. I'm a fan of yours, but I have to say that we're sitting here debating, 'Is Kamala Harris black…'”

“I saw that. I have often seen discussion groups. “They’re cops—, Anderson,” Charlamagne cut off the anchor.

Cooper said he and other CNN anchors have never questioned the vice president's race, although he acknowledged that the cable network may have had “crazy people” with “strong beliefs” on panels before to present a diverse range of opinions and ” to have a…“legitimate conversation.”

Charlamagne dropped discussion of Harris but again accused the news of a lack of critical coverage of Trump.

“I think no network is having honest conversations about Donald Trump,” he said. “No one has had an honest conversation about Donald Trump since 2016.

“I saw last night that they were talking about the double standards that exist between Donald Trump and the vice president, but it's always a double standard with Trump, whether it's Hillary, whether it's, you know, against Biden.” Now we’re talking to Kamala about how he’s a threat to democracy, but we’re not treating him like one.”

But Cooper stood by his coverage of the former president.

“I don't know what you saw, but I don't know if there are Trump supporters out there or people who like him who tune in to me every night to try to validate their opinion,” he said.

“Let me just say that there isn't anyone on the planet who hasn't heard and seen pretty much everything Donald Trump has said,” the CNN star added.

“I don’t think so,” Charlamagne replied. “When the vice president said that to you last night and she said, 'I don't think enough people know,' I am 100% convinced that enough people didn't hear his rhetoric.”

The radio show host has repeatedly called Trump a fascist and even got Harris to agree in an interview with her that it was OK to call the Republican candidate a fascist.

The vice president held a brief news conference Wednesday to cite allegations against Trump in an Atlantic article that portrayed him as a fascist and a tyrant in waiting.

“In the past week alone, Donald Trump has repeatedly referred to his fellow Americans as an enemy within and even said he would use the U.S. military to target American citizens,” Harris said outside her Washington, DC, residence

“Let us be clear about who he sees as the enemy within. Anyone who refuses to bend a knee or dares to criticize him would, in his opinion, be considered an enemy within – like judges, like journalists, like impartial election officials.

“We know what Donald Trump wants. He wants uncontrolled power. The question in 13 days will be: What do the American people want?”
