“Babygirl” star Harris Dickinson shared how he and co-star Nicole Kidman used an intimacy coordinator to style some of their steamy sex scenes in their new erotic thriller.

“We talked to the intimacy coordinator about it, and then Nicole and I kind of did our own thing after setting the parameters that we were both comfortable with,” Dickinson said in an interview with Variety published Wednesday.

“The intimacy coordinator asks, 'What are you comfortable with, what do you want as a director, what do you want to execute from that vision?' They enable that and do it very carefully without interrupting the actual scene.”

Kidman chimed in during the interview, admitting that the biggest challenge for her in producing the film was “really doing the film justice and trying to be open and raw and available every day in every way possible.” be”.

“The nature of this film was that you were either completely vulnerable and exposed, or you were protected and then the thing no longer had any connection.”

The Big Little Lies star continued, “When I met with (director Halina Reijn) and we talked about it, I was like, 'Just give us a safe space,' and then, 'Please don't force me.' Look like an idiot.'”

In the film, Kidman plays a powerful CEO who begins an affair with a much younger man, played by Dickinson.

The new interview comes shortly after Kidman opened up about the sexual nature of the film, telling the Sun earlier this week that she almost suffered “burnout” from having to fake orgasms so often on camera.

“There were times during filming where I thought, 'I don't want to imitate an orgasm anymore,'” the 57-year-old actress said.

She continued, “Don’t come near me. I hate doing this. I don’t care if I’m never touched again in my life!”

Kidman went on to say that it was so exhausting for her to be “present the whole time” during the sex scenes that it was “almost burnout” for her.

At some point she felt “over it.”
