    Amazon Prime introduces gas discounts

    The value of Amazon Prime goes beyond fast, free shipping to a growing list of benefits that make membership worthwhile. The latest addition? Prime members can now access fuel discounts at thousands of gas stations across the US. Amazon says this new benefit could help members save up to $70 on fuel annually at participating locations.

    This move brings Amazon Prime closer to Walmart+, which has offered gas discounts to its members for several years.

    Amazon Prime fuel savings offer

    With Amazon Prime's new fuel savings offer, members can save 10 cents per gallon when they fill up at approximately 7,000 BP, Amoco and AMPM locations across the US

    In 2025, Amazon plans to expand this benefit by introducing a discount on electric vehicle charging with BP Pulse, BP's electric vehicle charging division.

    How it works

    To activate the fuel discount, visit amazon.com/fuel savings and connect your Amazon account to Earnify, the loyalty program of BP and its subsidiaries. Standard members without the Prime loyalty program typically only save five cents per gallon, but with this benefit you'll save 10 cents.

    If you are a new Earnify Rewards member, you can enjoy a welcome offer of 250 points and earn double points in the first 90 days after registration. You'll also earn one point per dollar on fuel spending and two points per dollar on convenience spending. 200 points equals a handy $2 savings or an additional five cents per gallon off.

    Amazon Prime vs Walmart+

    If you choose between one Thanks to Amazon Prime and Walmart+ memberships, Amazon's fuel discount is a welcome addition. Other benefits of a Prime membership include fast, free delivery on millions of items, access to Prime Video, and a free Grubhub+ membership.

    Meanwhile, Walmart+ members can save 10 cents per gallon on fuel at over 13,000 Exxon, Mobil, Walmart and Murphy gas stations. In addition to free shipping with no minimum purchase, members have access to other perks like free access to 24/7 pet care through Pawp and a Paramount+ Essential membership.
