Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said after Wednesday's game that Wiseman is expected to have an MRI in New York on Thursday before the Pacers play the Knicks on Friday.

Wiseman, the Golden State Warriors' No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 draft out of Memphis, signed a veteran minimum contract with the Pacers this offseason and was expected to be Indiana's third center behind Myles Turner and Isaiah Jackson. Jackson missed Wednesday's opener with a groin strain, leaving Wiseman as the second-line center, but he went down with a non-contact injury after four minutes, 38 seconds of play in the Pacers' win over the Pistons. Wiseman scored six points and grabbed one rebound in those minutes. He is averaging 9.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for his career.
