Although the 49-year-old actress does not appear in the films in which she plays the lead role Keanu Reevesshe has a production credit on the first film, which premiered in 2014.

During a recent interview with the film's directors Chad Stahelski And David Leitch revealed that the project ran into major trouble when a financing plan fell through less than a week before the film began production. That paved the way Eve to save the day.

“We were out for less than a week and lost almost $6 million due to gap funding.” Chad said Business Insider. “We funded independently to get the bond, but one of the investors couldn’t raise the money in time.”

Chad said that Eve “came to the rescue and provided gap funding literally less than 24 hours before we had to lock the doors on the film and walk away.”

The directors did not find out that this was the case Eve who supported her until the film was released. After finding out, they went out to lunch with the actress.

“We reminisce. She said, “Wow, that was the best money I've ever spent.” It definitely paid off for her,” David called back.
