New Zealand made a change to their playing XI, bringing in left-arm spinner Mitchell Santer in place of injured pacer Matt Henry.

India made three changes from the team that played in Bengaluru. Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav gave way to Akash Deep, Washington Sundar and Shubman Gill.

India captain Rohit Sharma: “I would have fought too. When you play a test game like that, the first session didn't go as we expected. But we fought well in the second inning.
