India vs New Zealand Live Score, IND vs NZ: R Ashwin strikes, Tom Latham falls

India vs New Zealand Live Score, 2nd Test IND vs New Zealand: New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat against India in the second Test of the three-match series on Thursday.

New Zealand made a change to their playing XI, bringing in left-arm spinner Mitchell Santer in place of injured pacer Matt Henry.

India made three changes from the team that played in Bengaluru. Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav gave way to Akash Deep, Washington Sundar and Shubman Gill.

New Zealand leads the series 1-0.

New Zealand captain Tom Latham: We will have a bat. Surface slightly different than last week. Not much grass. Might cause a bit of a stir, as we expect when we come to these parts of the world. Obviously a really proud moment for this group. We celebrated, but our focus here quickly turned to Pune. It's just a matter of adapting to this surface. I'm trying to use the confidence we built last week. Matt Henry fails with a glute problem. Santner comes in.

India captain Rohit Sharma: “I would have fought too. When you play a test game like that, the first session didn't go as we expected. But we fought well in the second inning. We'll take a lot of positives from this and see how we can turn things around.” We always want to find a way to get back into the friendly when we're behind. Yes, we understand how important the first 10 overs are, KL and Kuldeep are out. Akash Deep, Washington and Gill come in.
PLAYING XIs: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant(f), Sarfaraz Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah

NEW ZEALAND: Tom Latham(c), Devon Conway, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Blundell(f), Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Ajaz Patel, William ORourke
