Donald Trump is a fascist, Kamala Harris tells CNN Town Hall

“He's simply calling 911 on the American people … if Donald Trump were back in the White House,” Vice President Kamala Harris said on CNN's live town hall today about former POTUS's longest-serving chief of staff John Kelly's recent comments about the GOP nominee.

Harris' comments follow General Kelly confirming previous statements attributed to him that he believes the GOP nominee “certainly falls within the general definition of fascist.” The former Secretary of Homeland Security's interview with the New York Times and the Atlantic Additionally, General Kelly shockingly revealed that Trump repeatedly praised Adolf Hitler and that he needed a military like “Hitler’s generals.”

The vice president briefly addressed the four-star general's comments on Wednesday, calling Trump's comments “deeply disturbing.” When asked by Anderson Cooper this evening in Aston, Pennsylvania whether she herself believed that Trump was a fascist, the vice president replied without hesitation: “Yes, I do.”

“He himself has said he would abrogate the Constitution of the United States and wants to earn your vote to stand behind the seal of the President of the United States again,” Harris added of her rival in this very close race. “No one who stands behind the seal of the President of the United States of America should be in this position and say that they want to abrogate the Constitution of the United States,” she continued, in language that Vice President Trump has often used .

As Harris answered questions from the audience, she faced questions about the cost of living and immigration – issues that polls show appear far more important to voters than Trump's totalitarian ambitions.

With Election Day 13 days away, tonight's town hall comes nearly a week ahead of the Harris campaign's intention for the vice president to make her closing statement on October 29 at the Ellipse in Washington DC, next to the White House. This is where Donald Trump spoke to the crowd that besieged the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

After refusing to host another debate on CNN that would have taken place tonight with Harris, Trump also rejected the network's alternative: back-to-back individual town hall meetings with the candidates.

Instead, Trump led a town hall in Zebulon, Georgia, and a Turning Point rally in Duluth, Georgia this afternoon. Tucker Carlson appeared at the latter event and described a Trump presidency as one in which “daddy comes home.” He spoke of how “Dad” was “angry” and “very disappointed” with his children’s behavior and “he needs to tell them.”

“And when daddy comes home, you know what he says? “You were a bad girl.” You were a bad little girl and you get a severe beating. At the moment. … It’s going to hurt you a lot more than it hurts me.”
