Shaboozey reached his 14th week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his country hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” making him just weeks away from possibly setting the record for longest-running No. 1 -Breaking hit of this decade and of all time.

With 14 weeks at No. 1, Shaboozey needs just two more weeks at the top of the charts to tie Morgan Wallen for the longest-running No. 1 hit of the 2020s, which he achieved last year when his country hit ” Last Night topped the charts for 16 weeks.

Shaboozey currently has the third-longest No. 1 hit of this decade on the Hot 100, which ranks songs by streaming, sales and radio airplay, trailing Harry Styles, whose hit “As It Was” spent 15 weeks at No. 1 Year 2022.

If “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” lasts another five weeks, Shaboozey would have Lil Nas’ crossover hit “Old Town Road.”

This week, Shaboozey achieved his second-longest stay at No. 1 with his first entry on the Hot 100 chart – a record also shared by Lil Nas and Los Del Rio, whose classic “Macarena” each topped the Hot 100 for 14 weeks.

Shaboozey also has one of the longest-running No. 1 hits of the decade on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart: “A Bar Song” is at No. 1 for the 18th time this week, behind Morgan Wallen's hit “Last Night.” and “You.” Proof,” which led for 25 and 19 weeks, respectively.

What records has Shaboozey already broken?

Shaboozey has by far the longest-running No. 1 hit of this year, ahead of Morgan Wallen and Post Malone's hit “I Had Some Help,” which topped the charts for six weeks between May and July. He also broke Carrie Underwood's record of most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard country radio airplay chart with a debut single, surpassing it in his seventh week at the top of the chart. When “A Bar Song” first reached the Hot 100 in July, Shaboozey became the first black man to do so simultaneously on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Hot 100 charts, just a week after Beyoncé topped “Texas Hold 'Em.” first black artist to top both charts simultaneously. He also became the first artist to reach the top 10 on four Billboard radio charts: Country Airplay, Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay and Rhythmic Airplay, with “A Bar Song” reaching No. 1 in all categories except rhythmic .

Months before “A Bar Song” became a massive hit, Shaboozey – who had never appeared on a Billboard chart before – was a featured artist on two songs on Beyoncé's “Cowboy Carter” album, released in March. Their album was credited with propelling Shaboozey to renewed fame. Two weeks after releasing “Cowboy Carter,” he released “A Bar Song.” Shaboozey was named 2024 New Artist of the Year at the People's Choice Awards in September, where he thanked Beyoncé and country radio for their support. He also received Country Music Association Award nominations for New Artist of the Year and Single of the Year.

Whether Shaboozey can nab Grammy nominations at next year's ceremony. Several publications, including the Los Angeles Times and Rolling Stone, predicted that Shaboozey could receive nominations for Best New Artist and Best Record of the Year. Voting for nominations closes on Tuesday and nominations will be announced next month.
