Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPagliais the ominous warning about Hollywood romances, recorded before their breakup Zach Bryanturned our heads.

“I said on (my) 'BFFs' (podcast) that I would never date someone famous. I literally never wanted it,” LaPaglia, 25, said on the Tuesday, Oct. 22, episode of the “Talk Tuah” podcast, referring to her relationship with Bryan, 28.

LaPaglia's best friend Grace O'Malley joked that she would “rue the day” she made that statement. LaPaglia did not respond to the comment, explaining that her romance with Bryan “just happened.”

As a podcast host Hailey Welch LaPaglia asked, “What changed your mind?” She confessed, “I don’t know. I wish I…” and trailed off.

Country superstar Zach Bryan and Barstool Sports podcaster Brianna LaPaglia – aka Brianna Chickenfry – had a hot and heavy relationship before splitting in the fall of 2024. The couple met in May 2023 when LaPaglia, a fan of Bryan, attended the Academy of Country Music Awards and took a photo with Bryan. In the same month the (…)

LaPaglia paused, seeming uncomfortable with the topic. “Don’t date famous people,” she finally said, warning 22-year-old Welch and her co-host Chelsea to stay away from Hollywood A-listers. “I think it's mentally better not to date someone famous,” LaPaglia continued. “That’s a lot.”

Chelsea then wondered how LaPaglia, herself a popular “Barstool Sports” podcaster, deals with “all the rumors” about Bryan.

“We didn't post about each other for a while and then I was on tour,” LaPaglia responded, noting that the former couple was very private at first.

She noted that the “internet is crazy” and creates new stories every day that she prefers to ignore. “I don’t defend myself online,” LaPaglia said. “I think it’s stupid to get involved in this.”

The interesting exchange was part of an hour-long podcast released on Tuesday, hours after it was announced that Bryan and LaPaglia had ended the dialogue. It is unknown when the episode was recorded.

Rumors of Bryan and LaPaglia splitting began circulating earlier this month when the country singer's dating profile on Raya was reportedly discovered.

Zach Bryan tells fans the full story about his recent arrest. “I wanted to be completely transparent with everyone who listens to my music about what happened yesterday when I was arrested,” the 27-year-old songwriter said on his Instagram Story on Friday, September 8, a day after his Imprisonment in Vinta, (…)

LaPaglia, meanwhile, denied breakup rumors on the Oct. 2 episode of her “BFFs” podcast, revealing that she's “been the brunt” of all the “personal issues” Bryan has been through.

LaPaglia said, “It took the internet by storm” when she and Bryan “didn't post about each other for a week,” but gave no indication that the couple was no longer together.

However, Bryan announced via his Instagram Story on Tuesday that he had ended his relationship with LaPaglia. (The couple began dating in July 2023.)

“Brianna and I have separated and I respect and love her from the bottom of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and I will always thank her for that,” he wrote. “I've had an incredibly tough year personally and have had to go through some pretty bad things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us if we took different paths. I’m not perfect and never will be.”

As news of their split spread, LaPaglia posted a YouTube video in which she claimed she was “blindsided” by Bryan's statement.

“I cried for about five days,” LaPaglia said through tears. “I'm at the point where I ask myself: How can you give someone everything and love them so unconditionally through things you shouldn't do?”

Although she said she knew she would be “fine” with time, she hoped to “heal privately” before learning that Bryan had gone public with the news. “I’m obviously very, very hurt right now,” LaPaglia added.
